At Kennedy’s Pharmacy Compounding, we continue to expand our range of specialised dermatology formulations to support prescribers who require customised treatments for their patients.
Some dermatology medications are difficult to source, discontinued, or only available in limited strengths. Through pharmaceutical compounding, we can prepare tailored topical medications when commercial products are not suitable or available.
All compounded medications listed below are available on prescription only.
We have recently added several high-demand compounding ingredients and can now prepare the following formulations on prescription.
Silver Sulfadiazine 1% Cream
Silver sulfadiazine is widely used in wound care and burn management due to its antimicrobial properties.
It is commonly prescribed to help prevent or treat infection in:
• Burns
• Skin graft sites
• Infected wounds
• Ulcers and compromised skin
If commercial products are unavailable or unsuitable, Kennedy’s Pharmacy can compound Silver Sulfadiazine 1% cream on prescription.
Cantharidin 0.7% Topical Liquid
Cantharidin is used in dermatology to treat certain skin lesions by creating controlled blistering of the affected tissue.
It is commonly used for:
• Molluscum contagiosum
• Common warts
• Plantar warts
• Periungual warts
Because supply is limited through standard pharmacy channels, many prescribers rely on compounding pharmacies for access.
We can compound Cantharidin 0.7% topical liquid on prescription.
Podophyllum 5%, Salicylic Acid 5%, Trichloroacetic Acid 5% Topical Suspension (15mL)
This compounded wart treatment combines three active ingredients that work together to remove stubborn lesions.
Podophyllum helps destroy wart tissue.
Salicylic acid softens thickened skin.
Trichloroacetic acid chemically cauterises abnormal tissue.
This formulation is often used for persistent plantar warts and resistant lesions.
Kennedy’s Pharmacy can compound this 15 mL suspension on prescription, with flexibility to adjust strengths where clinically required.
Dapsone 7.5% Gel
Dapsone is a topical medication with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects used in dermatology.
It is commonly prescribed for:
• Acne vulgaris
• Inflammatory skin conditions
When commercial options are not suitable, we can compound Dapsone 7.5% gel on prescription in a dermatologically appropriate base.
Tofacitinib 2% Cream
Tofacitinib is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor with immunomodulating effects, increasingly used in dermatology for inflammatory and autoimmune skin conditions.
Compounded topical tofacitinib may be prescribed for:
• Alopecia areata
• Vitiligo
• Atopic dermatitis
• Other inflammatory dermatoses
Topical formulations allow targeted treatment at the affected area while minimising systemic exposure.
As this medication is not widely available as a commercial topical product, compounding plays an important role in access via prescription.
Kennedy’s Pharmacy can prepare Tofacitinib 2% cream on prescription, with flexibility in strength and base.

Why Prescribers Choose a Compounding Pharmacy
Not every pharmacy has the capability to prepare specialised dermatology formulations.
At Kennedy’s Pharmacy, we provide:
• Custom strengths and formulations
• Access to hard-to-source medications
• Flexible bases for dermatological use
• Support for dermatology and podiatry prescribing
All compounded medications are prepared strictly against a valid prescription and tailored to individual patient needs.
